Amy Cameron began traveling around the world in 1998 to teach English to people of all ages and backgrounds, and earned her Master of Arts in Teaching degree in 2002. Her work as an ESL teacher brought her to India in 2001, and while traveling throughout the country she had her first yoga experience. She was hooked by her first sun salutation, and has been practicing yoga ever since.
Drawn to the concepts of Kripalu Yoga, Amy deepened her personal practice over the years and completed the intensive 200-hour Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training in June 2010. This gentle practice teaches compassionate self-acceptance through meditation in motion, allowing each individual to achieve a non-judgmental awareness of body and mind.
Amy’s relaxing and inspirational classes reflect her deep desire to make yoga accessible to everyone, regardless of age, fitness level, or experience. She has a compassionate approach that encourages each student to modify poses to their own individual needs, and to incorporate their yoga practice into their everyday lives. Her passion is helping people to experience yoga and meditation as tools for self-transformation, and to make those tools accessible to anyone.
